The way we use language in western culture structures the way we think. It's central influence is in the way we think of time. Because we read left to right in strung out sentences, we tend to think in a line with the past on the left (what we've just read) and the future to the right (where we're going to read). This patterns our perception and teaches us to believe the world is one based on cause and effect. Only it doesn't work that way.

Most people believe they're separate from everything and everyone around them. Therefore, they think telepathy is a myth or something that only a few unique individuals engage in. They don't understand that the thoughts and ideas they're thinking about are part of a mass of ideas that exist. They don't understand that they're literally immersed in ideas all day long.
For this reason, most people clutch their feelings. They own their feelings. They think their thoughts, ideas, and feelings are THEIRS. This possessiveness toward your ideas and feelings makes it really difficult to change your habits once you (continued...)
K-now-ing / Not k-now-ing

We're back to one of my pet interests - language. If you take the word knowing and drop the "k" (it's silent anyway), you have it's true meaning - nowing. When you know something, all you're doing is taking something that already exists and bringing it into your experience. We're all familiar and comfortable with this. What causes a bit of dismay is not knowing things.
I think it's really important to get comfortable with not knowing things. We have alot of sayings that support the belief that it's dangerous not to know something. "Knowledge is power," for (continued...)
