Top Ten Bizness Tips for Artists
1. The internet is a global 24/7 gallery. It’s your job to get your work out into the world. The web is ideal for any artist, any medium. You must create an online presence for your work.
2. As soon as you’re making ANY money selling your art, you’re a small business. Go to your local city/county tax collector and get your business license. Be sure to read any/all info on having a home-based/small/internet business. Save all your receipts and think in the long-term.

Make 3 or 4 small moves per day. Small moves add up over time. Here’s a list of micro moves you can make to help your career as an artist bloom.
Sign up for free email newsletters. Many art resource sites like The Pauper have free newsletters for you if you enter your email address.
Make the scene online. Friend networks like MySpace , Friendster, and Yahoo 360 get national attention. Get yourself a free account at one or all of these sites and expand your online network and get some (continued...)

On a Mission
I work under a main umbrella blueprint of rocking the globe with my art. Within that huge mission are a billion sub-categories of tasks, steps, projects, time periods, extra projects that need to be done as their own mini missions. As each mini mission is accomplished I’m moving forward in my main mission.
One of my mini missions is to search the internet, ask friends in business and other artists, to seek out anyone and anything that can help me in my constant quest for free business advice, inspiration, and information. One recent goldmine (continued...)
