In the morning of the first day,
The crickets sang on Third Street
As if they lived on Country Roads
And brought a smile to my lips
And removed my frowning City face
In this Aerie, I perch on a chair
And gaze at the Night Sky ablaze
With sparkling gems called Chrysler,
Empire, Woolworth, the Twins
And Dream of a Summer Eve
When songs of joy are simple refrains
