Kostadin's Bio / Statement

 

My name is Kostadin Dimtchev Kostov. I have been studying Art since year of 1990 and I have been enrolled in Tzantko Lavrenov, High School of Fine Arts in Plovdiv, BULGARIA.Currently, I'm majoring in Visual Arts (Drawing, Painting, Ceramics and Sculpture) with a minor graphic design. I have been awarded by the Coca Cola Foundation for outstanding young talent, and I have been representative of the mock trial court artist in the State of GEORGIA. Currently, I'm attending my second year in Gainsville State College and then I will transfer in Savannah College of Art and Design(SCAD).I have been a member of the Hight Museum Woodroff Art Center.My ultimate goal is to finally get some recognition for my artistic abilities and hopefully fulfill my dream of been an artists as a career. I hate to be pessimistic but my advice for any starting artists is be very competitive and extremely giving for what one's goal is because this world is a very competitive and it is very hard to make a living as an artists. I'm still in my young career and I'm still hoping to fulfill my dream as an Art instructor. I do take orders in occasions to make family portraits and animals portraits and if you are interested please e-mail me at : kostadinkostov@yahoo.com.I do enjoy making ART for the peronal satisfaction and I do not necessarly think of it as a way of making a big fortune, however I do need to make some cash out of to pay my art supplies ( brushes, oil paint, palets and ect.)I do charge a small fee of $150 for portraits for 24'by18' and it usually takes me a good bid of time completing the project, so considering my time (usually up to 3 weeks) I do not price my work very high.I have made several logos for different companies such as providers of animals food, and several logos for local newspapers. I also work very often with Adobe Photoshot and Illustrator and I will be taking classes for animations in year of 2007. I recently was accepted in the Phetta Kappa and the Dean's list nominates. As a begging artist I have spent 16 years for creating for the Art sake but as I grow older I do have some hope to make a living out of my talent, please visit my website.
